Postpartum care: Supporting new families

The first few days after childbirth are a time of significant change and adjustment for new parents. We are committed to providing you with comprehensive support during this transition to ensure the health and well-being of your family.

At home with you

Home visits are tailored to your needs to provide you with the support you need during this new chapter of your life. Each visit is an opportunity to monitor the health and physical and emotional well-being of the mother, the co-parent, and the baby. We provide the necessary care, guide you on breastfeeding or bottle-feeding, and answer your questions with accuracy and kindness. Your own resources and abilities are valued.

How many sessions should I plan for?

We typically schedule 10 to 16 visits, but we adapt to your situation. These visits are fully covered by LaMAL insurance for up to 56 days after birth. In special cases, additional consultations may be arranged upon the medical recommendation of a pediatrician or gynecologist.

Three breastfeeding consultations are reimbursed throughout the entire breastfeeding period to support you, advise you during partial or complete weaning, and provide compassionate guidance at every stage.

Need help with breastfeeding?

Breastfeeding is a natural process and should be able to take place without pain or discomfort. Support may be needed during the breastfeeding period or in specific situations.
